No matter where Pakistani families land whether it is Montreal, London, Houston, Dubai, we carry Pakistan in our senses, our language, and our love. And we find each other.

We are a community that travels. We pack up our lives and we go...but we take Pakistan in our hands like something breakable and precious.

And wherever we land, we look for each other.

We find each other in the aunties at the masjid. In the WhatsApp groups. In the comments sections of videos where someone finally said the thing we all felt.

I reflect on this a lot; about what it means to carry a home inside you. About what we pass on to our children, who are growing up in cities Pakistan has never heard of, in schools where no one knows what Eid is.

What do our children carry? What do we give them to hold?

That question is why I started Rabsqalam.
